  • Joshua Forster

    Joshua Forster

Josh is a neurodivergent designer, developer, and creative with ADHD—diagnosed at 30 after years of unknowingly masking. Since starting Elvanse, he’s experienced a powerful mental shift, using that clarity to channel his ideas into real projects. With a Masters in Communication Design and a background in Nutrition, Josh’s journey blends creativity with logic. He began building websites for his blog during his Nutrition degree and fell in love with design and code. When a tutor encouraged him to include illustrations in one of his apps, it sparked a new collaboration with Holly—combining her artistic vision with his digital skills. Their partnership is powered by contrast: Josh brings kinetic energy and experimentation; Holly brings calm, thoughtfulness, and depth.

  • Holly Hipwell

    Holly Hipwell

Holly is a disabled artist living with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare genetic condition that affects coordination, vision, and mobility. Diagnosed at age 10, her strength lies in adapting—finding new ways to express herself as her condition evolves. She draws inspiration from Impressionist painters and abstract art, favouring an experimental approach that prioritises emotion over precision. “My art is a playground,” she says. “I work with what I have, not against it.” Her collaboration with Josh was a happy accident that quickly became a creative outlet for both of them. Where Josh is fast-paced and full of fire, Holly brings intuition, patience, and emotional clarity. Together, their work celebrates difference—not in spite of disability and neurodivergence, but because of it.

The Sketching Process

Each illustration starts with an idea. After having a rough idea, Holly will attempt a few initial sketches until she is happy with the outcome.

When she's happy with her final result, the sketch is handed over to Josh to digitize Holly's creation into the final product.

Holly's erratic drawing style is what gives each individual piece its charm.
